§ 6-1-218. Extra shift - Bonus payment.

(a) Memorandum of agreement applicability. Bonus pay shall be paid to employees in the classification of Fire Battalion Chief as provided by the applicable memorandum of agreement negotiated and executed under Title 4.

(b) Non-represented employees. At the discretion of the Fire Chief, a non-represented uniformed fire officer may receive a bonus for an additional tour of duty worked beyond the officer’s regularly assigned shifts for the purpose of covering a field operations vacancy; providing instruction to emergency personnel; providing repair capability for emergency apparatus and facilities; and responding to emergencies as part of a special tactical team. The bonus amount shall follow the same pay schedule as permitted in subsection (a).
